Caroe Architecture’s heritage consultants and conservation architects, working with regular collaborator Jeremy Musson, have completed a HLF-funded Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the Bevis Marks Synagogue on behalf of the S&P Sephardi Community in the City of London.

The Grade I listed synagogue building has witnessed much change in the City since it was completed by Joseph Avis in 1701. Throughout this 318-year history, it has remained in continuous use. No other synagogue in Europe has this continuity of practice, of community, of building, and of collections.

The CMP has been prepared in support of a project entitled Bevis Marks: Britain’s Most Significant Synagogue, in conjunction with Dow Jones Architects. Please see https://www.sephardi.org.uk/hlf/
