Clerk to the Surveyor of St Paul’s Cathedral and Heritage Consultant
Caroline is an experienced heritage management professional with particular strengths in research, analysis, writing and conservation planning.
Prior to embarking upon heritage management, she enjoyed a successful public sector career, which included in broadcast engineering administration and management at the BBC World Service.
Her previous roles have included twelve years with the National Trust as House Manager at Clandon Park, Surrey, House Steward at Standen, West Sussex, and Conservation Assistant at The Vyne, Hampshire. These roles included responsibility for operations, management, and conservation, including preventative conservation.
At Caroe Architecture, Caroline is Clerk to the Surveyor of St Paul’s Cathedral, researching and crafting statements of significance and applications to the Fabric Advisory Committees and the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England under the Care of Cathedrals Measure, as well as local planning authorities and grant awarding bodies. She prepares Heritage Impact Assessments and analyses of proposed changes to historic buildings along with overseeing building fabric project management and progress reporting to clients and statutory bodies.
